AI File with Special Character in File Name

If you see the below error when trying to launch an AI file from the retail document library.  We discovered the root cause of the failure is a special registration mark ® used in the AI file name.  To enhance security, software providers are limiting the use of special characters in the file name.  

To fix this, you need to:

• Locate and download the same document in the old PTC at this URL http://flexprodwc.noc.agron.com/Windchill/rfa/jsp/main/Main.jsp.

• After downloading, remove the special character from the AI file name

• In New PTC, navigate to the material and click the link next to AI File1

• Click “Update”

• On the update screen, perform these actions
  • Check the boxes to remove the old file
  • Upload the new file
  • Check the primary box

• Click “Save & Check In”

• Upload a new document thumnail
